[MC-14471] Breaking blocks with tools, weapons, or any item

Found a small bug, nothing really bad, but while you are breaking a block while holding any item such as a pickaxe and drop it right as the block would break, nothing happens, but when you pick up the item "in this case the pickaxe" the block will break.

Doesn't really hinder the gameplay experience, but I thought I would contribute.

MC-31266 Throwing an item right after destroying a block, makes it reappear, and it will disappear after picking up the item. Resolved

Confirmed. Drop the item right before the block would break.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
