Mobs not affected by sunlight

Fix

See MC-142134 for instructions on how to clear the lighting cache.

This issue affects chunks that were affected by MC-142134. The lighting now appears to be correct in these chunks however mobs spawned during the night are not affected by sunlight during the day when they are in these chunks.

The debug screen shows light levels of 15 within the affected chunks. If mobs walk outside of the affected chunks they start to burn. They stop burning when they move back into the affected chunks.

I haven't seen mobs spawn during the day in these chunks.

Just to clarify, when you optimized the world, you selected "Erase cache data" as well, correct? Doing so will recalculate the world's lighting (instructions can be found in MC-142134).

The problem with Neko's comment above (https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-148504?focusedCommentId=536094&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel#comment-536094) is that there is no method for server admins to optimise worlds with the "Erase cache data" option.

As I said, instructions can be found in MC-142134. That includes servers as well.

Not fixed, i ran the optimize world on the server (i couldnt clear cache), and it still occurs.

You need to clear cache in order to fix this. What do you mean you couldn't?

This doesnt work clearing cache doesnt help

Clearing cache fixes the bug for once, but after some time it breaks again for some chunks.

Which version did you try this in? There was another lighting bug in 1.14-pre4 (MC-148580) that might have caused this as well. That issue has been fixed in 1.14-pre5, please check whether clearing the cache again resolves the issue for good. If not, please create a new ticket.
