Villager Trade reverses after closing trade screen

I am trading with a Master level Armorer.

I can trade successfully for all items except for a chest plate.

I can initiate the trade, provide the correct number of emeralds, click on the chest plate and receive it into my inventory.

Once I close the trade window the chest plate disapears and the emeralds re-appear.

Very consistent, happens every time over several days.
