If you charge a crossbow you cannot actually see your hand charging it as the crossbow is lower than before.

This is most likely working as intended.

it's to make it look realistic

Not to be confused with the Bedrock Edition's crosbow charging animation because this animation was shown at Minecon Earth.

I think this is working as intended.
