Hostile Mobs can see you through blocks

I cant see them only hear them following me through the walls.. sorry don't have X-ray RP
Also I believe it mostly Zombies in this case
I was in survival mode when it originally happened and I just filled in the area with cobble so I tried to recreate the same scenario in creative mode and then switching back to survival mode, with no luck.
If it's possible to add to the idea of "mobs seeing you through walls"
that counts as them looking at the player, if so I have a video I made with evidence on a creative world where I spawned in a lot of creepers, put them in a pen and made a wall in between us. I didn't jump above the wall.
Reproduction : Make wall, spawn mobs on other side, look at the wall where the mobs are, and they will look and follow you with their head, they will not move towards you, they will only follow your movement.
Can you attach a screenshot of the wall the mobs saw you through?
