Minecraft won't open.

So, Minecraft had the 1.13 update almost a year ago which means that I have not been able to open it for almost a year. Why can't I open it? Because it keeps saying that it couldn't open! I'm so done with this!!!! My mom also tried to download it on here computer and my other computer and it still won't work. What do I do???
