Upon exiting a minecart, player character (me) falls through the block that the rail is resting on.

The ends of my rails in my survival world consist of an unpowered rail adjacent to another block to stop the minecart. This rail is unpowered, save for when I push a button to cause my minecart to go. When the I reache the end of my rail line, my minecart sitting stationary on top of the powered rail (with no redstone current flowing to it) and one end of my minecart is collided with the stopper block. Upon exiting the minecart, my character attempts to dismount onto the block the minecart is resting on, but instead phases through it and comes to a rest on the block below that.
