Unable to connect to realm - Died while in Nether Portal

As stated in title, I am unable to connect to a Minecraft Realm due to dying in a Nether Portal. On death, I could not click respawn or title screen. I disconnected and now on my attempts to reconnect, I am getting the following Error Message: 

Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.codec.DecoderException: java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: readerIndex(51) + length (2) exceeds writerIndex(51): PooledUnsafeDirectByteVuf(ridx:51, widx:51, cap:51)

I have tried being removed from the server and friends have broken the Nether portal. On the Realm page, it shows me as being online, even when Minecraft is closed. However, in-game I am not shown as online (by Tabbing).

Any help would be great as the realm was only just renewed for this month.
