Slime Blocks can only be moved in a vertical jeb door by direct power

The desert, 2 sticky pistons facing sideways, on the sticky side on the bottom a sticky piston facing up, on the top a slime block. I made 3 setups, one with redstone torches directly powering the sticky pistons, one with redstone in between, one with repeaters in between. When contracted in the proper order, they should lower the slime block and have both move back, but on the redstone and the repeater versions, the slime block refused to move. This is a problem only with this update, in earlier versions it was fine.
