villagers try to climb up stairs from a wrong side

if placed in "┐" shape(with adjacent stairs) villagers try to climb the stairs from the wrong side. I searched for a while, but only found old issues that are marked as resolved. But it seems like the problem is still here. They keep bouncing up and down until another entity come and push them. or until they have something else to do(ex: work).
