End gateway throws player into void even though there is a platform surrounding it.

When teleporting back to the main end island after being in the outer islands, my player was thrown off the platform surrounding the gateway and into the void. Don't know if it was just a one off incident but if others are experiencing then it would be good if it could be foxed as it is very inconvenient.
