Redstone not connecting visually

I launched my creative world in Minecraft 1.6. after I almost lagged to death repeatedly (due to massive amounts of redstone I think) I stopped using the pre-release and went back to 1.5.2. my redstone now will not connect to each other on the north south axis. The last that I checked redstone was having problems in 1.6, I have not heard of any in 1.5.2
