Our villager with nametag disappeared before our eyes.

We transformed a zombie-villager into a normal villager and took it to our base with a boat and a minecart. Later on we build a room for it and gave it a nametag but than, a few moments later, it just disappeared before our eyes. There were no mobs or other things nearby that could kill the villager.
