Item Frames shift-clicked on lecterns causes game to throw NullPointerException

On attempting to place an Item Frame on the top of a Lectern, game crashes, throwing a java.lang.NullPointerException.

Reproducing this behavior

1. Place a lectern.

2. Place a book inside.

3. Shift-click the top to place an Item Frame.

4. Your game should crash.
