Minecraft won't launch on FreeBSD

We don’t have enough information to find the cause of this issue. Looks like the reporter hasn't attached anything yet.  The attached log file is what I get when running the Launcher on FreeBSD 12.1.  There was no 'launcher_log.txt' in the ~/.minecraft directory, so I took the log from the launcher's log window.

Using the 'legacy' launcher mentioned here  I have bypassed this issue and instead have encountered a lwjgl issue.  I will follow the advice here  to try and get Minecraft working on FreeBSD, as it did before recent changes.

I have now compiled the necessary lwjgl libs and pointed Minecraft to them, but unfortunately it crashes hard...

Is this still an issue in the most recent versions (currently that is 1.16.3, or the latest pre-release 1.16.4-pre1) of Minecraft? If so, please update the affected versions and help us keeping this ticket updated from time to time. If you are the owner/reporter of this ticket, you can modify the affected version(s) yourself.
