Massive Mob Lag during Raid

I was in the middle of a raid and all of sudden I got massive amounts of lag..my FPS is fine but the lag is where the raiders are moving much slower than usual, they stutter and lag back.

To recreate: I started a raid, blocked off the villager houses with dirt blocks so villagers stay put in houses. The raiders start running around and that's when the massive Mob Lag begins with the raiders running around like crazy while stuttering and moving back.

I know it was a raid problem because after the raid ended all the surrounding mobs were moving back to normal and the game was running much faster. Perhaps with the raiders running rapid circles around the trapped villager..was causing it?
