Wither boss does not wither me.

When the Wither Boss hits me with one of its wither skulls or projectiles it does not wither me.I have cheats on my world so I got stuff on creative and turned back to survival.I was damaged but I was not withered.I was shot directly about 10 times but I didn't get withered.

Are you playing on easy mode? The wither affect is not applied to players in easy mode/
