Villager breeding results in different biome type villager

I have two villagers in a breeding cell, I gave food and they made babies. All normal. The villagers were from a taiga village so they had the taiga clothing on. They were breeding in a plains biome so they were creating plains babies (plain brown coats). However, about 4 baby villagers in, they started breeding taiga babies, as if they were in a taiga. This goes against the description on the wiki. Babies are supposed to have the clothing of the biome they are spawned in, but this did not happen. Also, the clothing of new babies changes biome (One baby is taiga, the next is plains). All of the babies are from the same two taiga villagers.

I think the baby villagers are sometimes taiga instead of plains because their parents are taiga villagers, causing a 50% chance for the baby to dress as one of its parents instead of dressing according to biome. Breeding in minecraft is sometimes an inconsistent mechanic, especially for mobs including but not limited to horses, rabbits, mooshrooms, and pandas. Note that the wiki is not an official source so it may be incorrect, especially for complex game mechanics.
