Extra hearts from Health Boost effect remain after death

Empty hearts do not disappear after player's death if the player had the 'Health Boost' status effect before dying. This happens whether or not players are re-affected by the 'Health Boost' status posthumously. If a player with the 'Health Boost' status effect dies they lose the status effect but the HUD remains as if they still had the effect but now are not on full, boosted health. The picture below happens on any instance of the snapshot I run on both my accounts. I have noticed this in past versions but have not managed to pin down a version it started on or if it was solved then only to resurface now.

I did note that this works as expected in 1.10.2.

 

Expected:

Extra hearts disappear altogether after death.

 

Result:

Respawning sets the player to the usual ten hearts but the other hearts remain on-screen and are also now empty as if the player had lost health. The effect

Cannot Confirm/Reproduce in 20w27a.

This issue should be fixed now.

Yeah im getting the same... Annoying as now I cant really see anything, please fix this mojang. I genuinely cant play on my server i pay 40 quid monthly for 😞

 

I can confirm that in 20w27a, I can no longer reproduce this issue. Tried a couple of things but this was by no means a complete examination. Not sure how @Sir Flossup is unable to play the game, I figure they might have messed with the '/attribute' command rather than health boost.

I am unable to reproduce in 1.16.2
