When items are floating in water, they float too high. Sometimes the floating items can appear completely out of the water. Items that are floating below blocks will sometimes float inside the blocks and cannot be seen unless the block is visually transparent or translucent.
When items bob up and down in the water, the lower floating height is more or less OK, but they bob up too high.

We're actually already tracking this issue in MC-160217, so I resolved and linked this ticket as a duplicate.
