I had roughly 100 item frames on chests, not trapped, but regular chests in my chestroom. These chests intersect with 6 different chunks at varying levels of occupancy. Every single item frame has disappeared. there are no mob farms, no change to the entity cramming rule from how mojang sent out the pre release, no damage to the structure, no lighting, no mob explosions, nothing. they all simply disapeared.

Can you please attach the game output logs from when you first noticed that the item frames were missing? You can find them in .minecraft/logs.
i attached all the logs for the last 36 hours. some were from the single player world, some from servers that have nothing to do with this.
You have opened the world with an outdated and modded version. You cannot open worlds that have been opened in snapshots in an earlier version.
Do you have a backup of your world before the item frames disappeared? If so, can you please attach it here? If the file size is too large, please upload it somewhere else and then link to it here.
