Dropped glass will make you able to see trough some blocks. you will see trough it until you see a solid block. This is only true for stained glass, and stained glass panes. So if you drop a stained glass on a slime block, you can see trough that slime block clearly until you see a solid block. Ive only tested this on slime and normal ice, but it may be more blocks.

We're actually already tracking this issue in MC-9553, so I resolved and linked this ticket as a duplicate.
However, that ticket has already been resolved as Fixed. The fix will arrive in the next version or is already included in the latest development version of the game.
