Falling blocks on top of non-full block without block below do not break

The bug

When a falling block (e.g. as sand) falls onto a non-full block (e.g. a slab or soul sand) without a block below it the falling block will keep floating and does not break.

However, if there is a non-replacable block (must not have a collision box) below the non-full block, the falling block will break as expected.

How to reproduce

  1. Place a floating soul sand block

  2. Let a sand block fall on top of it
❌ The sand keeps floating instead of breaking

i didnt see any bug report saying this bug

Bug of idbox for falling sand and slab (work for non-naturally generated slabs)

If slab has no block bellow (air, water, entity...), the falling block stay as entity when it is on the slab

(and pop after 25s)

i don't get this.

what does this mean for factions on 1.15.1? like will i need to place torches instead of slabs to stop sand stacking?

@@unknown, no there is nothing special to consider for 1.15 or 1.15.1. This bug has been fixed in 1.15 Pre-release 1, a version which has been released before 1.15.
