Minecraft crashes on start

This project (MC) is only for Minecraft Java Edition, however it appears your problems occurs with the launcher (project MCL on this bug tracker). Does MCL-12549 describe your issue?

How is it resolved? How can I get a rebate for a defective product that can't be fixed by Mojang?

It is not resolved yet, MCL-12549 is still open. If you are really experiencing that bug and have any useful additional information you can attach it there. Also please provide crash reports as plain .txt files and not .rtf.
