Cannot open Minecraft launcher on macOS High Sierra

What are the contents of the report?

I saw a user with a similar report. In their launcher log, it listed this error:

[Error: 2019-11-15 03:39:57.351121: SkinManager.cpp(170)] Deserializing: Expected object

I had them remove the launcher_profiles.json file from the game directory, and this corrected the problem. (the file can be found under ~/Library/Application Support/Minecraft)

Attached report as a file, so it doesn't expire on pastebin.
