I was playing Minecraft Java and I sleep in a bed to set my spawn then I get killed by a enderman however it says bed was obstructed. This has already happened to me twice

I tested it one more time by getting a bed in survival putting the bed in a open field sleeping in it dying from fall damage and it set me to where I was when I first spawned in the world
That musta sucked starting from spawn again
