[MC-166711] cant see skins

Hi mates im a mac user and when i play minecraft with my friends i cant see anyones skins and it confuses me i know that this is a duplicate but i cant see the anwsers

Is this when playing using the Open to LAN option, or with a server?

i tried deleting my skins folder and it didnt help and the rest has something with premier or Task and im using mac so its kinda harder for but thanks for the replies tho
