My other chests function just fine and when I break the invisible chests, only the actual chest is placed in my inventory. There is still a block in the space (ie I can't stand where the chests are) but they are completely invisible and I can't access my most importation chests.

We're actually already tracking this issue in MC-150005, so I resolved and linked this ticket as a duplicate.
