I entered my server just now upon updating, and my banners seem to have lost their patterns. The Ominous Banner only appear as black banners (tag and ID are still the same) and the banner on my shield still has its description for its pattern, but the pattern itself doesn't show up.
I guess it is just a problem with the rendering of the pattern.

Do you use any resource packs?

No, I do not. I do have a shader installed, however, as you could see it wasn't activated at that time.

Can you post a screenshot of your resource pack screen?
Also, please force a crash by pressing F3 + C for 10 seconds while in-game and attach the crash report ([minecraft/crash-reports/crash-<DATE>-client.txt|https://minecrafthopper.net/help/guides/finding-minecraft-data-folder]) here.
Once attached, the report will be reopened automatically.
