The world will not change itself to a new version when you update.
Only solution is to download the world play it in the launcher and upload it again.
It is fine if it happens sometimes, the only problem is the time it takes to do this gets more and more and more because we like to play a lot of minecraft!
Can you let us know a solution or make it part of the server.jar?

Yes i did replace the server.jar with the 1.15 version.
The server accepts the 1.15 client it only will not generate the bee hives without opening the world in the normal minecraft launcher.

The game only generates bee hives in chunks that havent been explored before. Is the server not generating them at all? (note that they are pretty rare)
The server was not generating any bee hives in unexplored chuncks, Untill i opend the save of the server in a single player world.
From there it started to generate bee hives.
I used a full shulkerbox of rockets to look for them and did not find any i was sure to go to unexplored chuncks (i checked with mcaselector-1.8.3).
When i opend the world in single player it took 4 rockets to find them 🙂
Sometimes they can be very rare, as they only have a 5% chance of spawning on any specific tree. However sometimes there are a lot. Unfortunately this doesn't seem like sufficient evidence it was anything more than probability you didn't find any.
Wel i looked for the hives in a few flower forest biomes and a lot of plains biomes and didnt find any. and after i opend the save game in the launcher it was the first new chunck where i found the hive.
So i think the server does not update well and therefor i made a bug report!
The server does not automatically update. You need to replace the server JAR file with the updated one. Are you doing this and still encountering issues?
