When you Craft an log to Wood you get 3 Wood but when you craft the Wood into planks you only get 12 panks!
When you craft 4 logs into planks you get 16 planks!
Same with Stripped Wood!

Changing plank output would be a feature request
Pretty sure that's intended, each log variant should produce only 4 planks.
