Not being able to fly down when high up in creative mode for Java edition

This issue occurs when you fly too high up in creative mode for Java edition you sometimes can't fly back down. The only way that you can is by closing out of the world and then reopening it. But it happens often if you try to fly down it doesn't let you. Could you please look into this?
