Whenever I shift with shield in left hand it doesn't work as the shield is supposed too. Not only that but in first person the hands are too close to the body. You can barely see your tools. Is there a way to fix this? I have digged through the settings to no prevail. (Update. Shield is working. I just can't fix the hand thing.)

The feature of crouching to activate a shield is only presented in the combat tests snapshots for Java Edition. That has not been added to the latest version of Minecraft.
