The fossils found in the new Soul Sand Valley biome in 1.16 snapshot 20w06a sometimes spawn floating in midair, and not attached to the ground.

Generally only pieces of fossil are found floating, ones that are part of a larger fossil as a whole but not specifically attached, with at least one of the pieces of the whole touching the ground.
