Open LAN Error - The authentication servers are down for maintenance.

When attempting to connect to an Open LAN Minecraft session\game on my local network, I receive the message "the authentication servers are down for maintenance.".

This message doesn't make sense since the game I'm attempting to connect to is an offline game (not Internet connected). There's no reason for authentication against any server.

Why can't MC be played on a local network without Internet connectivity?

And just to confirm, an Open LAN game doesn't require Minecraft server, correct?

Try again later. It could be that the developers took down LAN servers for a few moments to work on improvements or something else.

And no, LAN servers do not require a Minecraft Server; all it requires is an internet connection.

Why does it "require" an internet connection if there's no online authentication needed. This is an offline, local network session\game.

I have two licenses. If I log in using each user\license on each their own system, then the game should determine that a license isn't being used simultaneously.
