Nether portal glow effect shatters when hit with tool

Works As Intended

Make a nether portal, and pick a tool (axe, pickaxe, hoe, or shovel) and swing at the glowing effect inside of the portal. It shatters.

This feature was added in Snapshot 12w08a back in Early 2012.

You're able to destroy all blocks in Creative mode, without exception.
