Lag when mining ores (especially Redstone Ores)

whenever I mine redstone ore, and walk with WASD at the same time, the game lags a little and basically lags me back in my previous position.

Please provide a small video with the debug screen enabled (hit the F3 key) demonstrating the issue.

Can confirm I have this issue, but not sure if it's client or server-side, as I strictly play on a server with my friends.
