Golden Apples only heal one heart compared to two in version 1.5.2

I used a golden apple in survival and it only healed 1 heart whereas when I ate a golden apple in version 1.5.1, it healed 3 hearts

Confirmed, but before it was 2 hearts.

I guess the problem was that Regen got nerfed, but the apple didn't get buffed to compensate?
