Can't make a cake

Whenever I try to make a cake, it won't transfer from the crafting table into my inventory.

I'm unable to reproduce. Are you sure the recipe is correct? Do you use any data packs?

I had the same issue. The buckets return to you inventory in the same slot that the cake appears and the cake disappears.
