Caused by the fix of MC-173433. Very likely unintentional. Adult hoglins should only be the ones that should drop leather and porkchop upon death, not babies since they are likely similar to baby animal mobs in the overworld.

But still, this is a bug. This would make food in the nether way too easy and making players seek out and kill baby hoglins. Unlike baby zombies, hoglins are breedable mobs, and like other breedable mobs, their baby variants don't drop anything food.
So we've got a hostile breedable mob, which is one-of-a-kind. We are not sure if this is intended or not, because there isn't something else in the game to match it up to. There's nothing for it to be inconsistent with.
Also, hoglins drop experience, which makes them more similar to the zombie example.
Probably not since the changelog didn't mention anything about baby hoglins dropping leather and raw porkchop, only them yielding XP.
But baby zombies drop flesh, so it is the same thing.
