Put the summary of the bug you're having here
What I expected to happen was...:
I would join my world and continue building on it. I was building this world since over a year and never encountered any problems.
What actually happened was...:
The whole world got reset. It was kind of like joining a new world with the same seed with the exception that I could keep my inventory.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start a new world
2. Build on it for a long time...
3. Join it one day
4. Its gone.

@Caden Joy, yes, I did go back. I constantly do and this was never a problem, because I hate the PVP after 1.9 so when I join a server I always go to 1.8.9, and on singleplayer I mostly play on 1.9+ (1.12.2, 1.14 and so on...)
but I changed it one time to 1.7.3 BETA because this was the first version I played minecraft on and I wanted to try it again. Maybe I mistakenly joined the old world, but I doubt it. I started a new world from what I remember.
But let's say I did mistakenly join my world which got reset. Is there a way to recover all my buildings?
And if I did not join it, then why would it get reset?
Thanks for your replay!
Downgrading versions is not, has never been, and will never be supported, and is likely to your worlds.
Did you go back to an older version?
