Block Duplication In Slime Block Elevators

In slime block elevators, which rely on a system of small piston units that act as conveyors, the group of blocks being moved will commonly have some blocks duplicate during movement. This gets in the way of the mechanism and throws the whole machine off. This bug seems to become more common as a greater number of columns of these units are added (which increases the lifting power of the system). I have tried this on elevators with both 2 columns of units and 3 columns. In the former this bug happens occasionally, in the latter, almost every time. I hope that you can fix this issue, especially as I am going to attempt to create a massive elevating floor area, which would have 24 columns.

Hello, are you sure the duplicated blocks are not ghost blocks?
Do they disappear if you rightclick them or relog into the worldsave?
If not, could you please upload a worldsave with your contraption, or a structure block file ?

Okay, I have checked, and they are indeed ghost blocks. Thank you for your help with this. Also, if you happen to know of any ways to stop ghost blocks from happening it would be helpful for appearances sake. Again, thank you for your help with this.

Hello Matthew, I'm afraid this is an ongoing problem, also see MC-172880 and MC-133187.
There've been many occurrences of this or similar slimeblock-piston-ghost block issues in the past years, and whilst I found them useful and great for some contraptions, I can see how they can be annoying in other contraptions.

Unfortunately, this is an issue that has to be fixed codewise.

The only thing you can try is to change your timings, as those ghost blocks majorly seem to happen with a piston receiving a 1-tick-pulse, and it also happens on laggy computers, and as I don't know your computer nor contraption, I can't tell you exactly what's happening in your case.

If the ghost blocks are not happening due to a laggy computer, but reliably, please attach a worldsave with your contraption here, even in case a moderator will resolve this bugpost here as duplicate of another one, please still do, I'll be taking care of it privately.

Sorry I can't help you any better here, but you're not alone!

Have a good weekend,
Meri

It is probably from both the one tick pulses and the fact that I am working on a fairly laggy machine. Hopefully ghost blocks will be fixed soon, and I thank you again for your help.
