Teleporting home from afar often results in sudden fps loss and game stuttering

After teleporting home from afar the fps will sometimes fall suddenly, the game stutters and I cannot change the mode of play, open the door to my house or quit the game without the task manager. Sometimes within a minute or two it resolves itself when I hear my front door click open. This has never happened teleporting to a site but only upon return home. I would say this problem recurs half the time.
