The redstone would remove the soul sand after a timer. While next to this redstone it functions as intended but when I use it to go to the surface using the bubble column the restone has taken effect but bubble column hasn't disappeared. This is likely from the distance as the elevator goes for 77 blocks and the bubble column fixes itself when I exit out of the save and reenter

I have the same issue. In a test map, I found that this bug occurs at a height of 64 blocks from the bubbles source block. In the server were I came up with the issue, my friend that was close to the soul sand and the timer, the bubble column persisted to me but not for him. The same happened with magma block.
