What I was especting to happen :
I punched a dolphin, I thought that it and its friends were gonna fight back.
What actually happened :
They stayed passiv and didn't fight, no matter how many times and which way I attacked them (even if I kill one). Occurs in singleplayer and multiplayer
Steps to do it :
-Be in survival
-Find a dolphin (or several)
-Hit it, do not one shot it
-Wait for it to fight back. It will not

On singleplayer, I'm on normal, the server is in hardcore. I made a few friends try after your message and they also have the problem.
Since we cannot reproduce, please provide a small video with the debug screen enabled (hit the F3 key) demonstrating the issue.
Can't reproduce. Are you in peaceful mode perhaps?
