Skin stuck on Steve model

When I go on Minecraft.net to change my skin, it becomes stuck on the Steve model. I've selected the slim model and it says that my skin is the slim model, but when I log onto a server or single player, it has the black lines in the back and appears as the Steve model. I've changed it to slim and it's said slim, but it doesn't appear as the slim model.
