I updated my world to the most recent snapshot. After building a new structure on the world, I tried to update the map I had of the spawn area. This caused the map to corrupt as shown in the attached image. I tried creating a new map and re-doing it, but it still appears to have the same issues. I thought that it was possible there was an issue since I was underground when the map was drawn, and tried again above ground. This resulted in the same issue. I have also attached a image (in spectator mode) of the area above the location in the map showing there were no structures built above the map.

Greetings,
I just wanted to let you know this isn't your particular world file alone. It was a known issue which has been resolved as of snapshot 20w18a.
Existing maps might still suffer from the issue.
You can try the following to fix the issue on your existing world:
On main menu click singleplayer
Select your world
Press edit
Select Optimize World
Select 'Erase cached data'
Press the 'create backup and load' button
You might have to delete your map and let it re-render.
After posting this issue, I am under the impression that it may be an issue with my with my particular world file. I was unable to replicate the issue another world.
