Until 20w16a, the new Nether biomes were always generated in large numbers and area-wide. In 20w18a, no only very rarely biomes were generated in the entire area in the same test world. Partially the bioms are not there because there are only big lava lakes at that place.
Nether fortresses and bastions seem to have been generated in 20w18a at the same locations as in 20w16a.
In newly generated worlds I could also only discover distant and isolated basalt delta biomes.

Please include the seed and used world generation settings.
Note that the biome generation algorithm changed in 20w17a.
The world in which my sons and I play is a survival world and so I could not enter /locatebiom. But I created a new world with the same seed number in creative mode. There is a Crimson Forest nearby, but see my Sceenshot: The whole biome is in the lava lake. Only at a small tip you can see a little bit (see the circle).

I would have to change the headline to "Only rarely and partially wrongly generated biomes in the Nether".

We hadn't played the version 20w17a because of the bug MC-179841, but I didn't notice in the change log that the new biomes are now very rare. A pity. For us the new Nether now looks just as boring red as in the 1.15
Resolved as a duplicate of MC-179944 (Nether wastes biome occurs too frequently and all other biomes appear very seldomly)
I thought I was going crazy when I started my HC run. After like a hour of searching for a Warped biome or a Nether fortress i found nothing. I switched to creative and flew around for a hour and found only one Nether fortress like thousands of blocks away. And for the warped biome i have yet to find one not a SINGLE ONE. Im sure this has to be a bug and biome generation has to be bugged for now in the nether. Op is right
