Glitched death

I died, then respawned after a while. my inventory showed a dead me, hotbar had stretched items and other stuff. I did it on a code kingdoms server. I also could not move, jump or chat.
I could look around and open my inventory but I could not change it. the offhand item was fine, but I could not use it or swap. I could not use my bow, or shoot arrows. arrows shot did not appear, nor did the arrows go down, but I heard the sound effect. I rejoined the server and it was fine.
this was a strange bug.
