When you press F3 + N in survival or adventure the gamemode switches directly to spectator.
How to reproduce:
1. Go to survival mode.
2. Press F3 + N
What happened: You will be in spectator.
What I expected: You will be in creative
The game will also remember the gamemode you were before switching to spectator, so you will be in survival or adventure again after doing it again.

This should happen if the player has cheats enabled and/or if they have operator permissions on a server.
By default, using this key would return to Creative after toggling from Spectator. It now will toggle back to the previous game mode you had
As an example, if you were in Survival, then toggled to Spectator and back, you would be set back to Survival
I found the changelog https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/article/minecraft-snapshot-20w20a
Sorry, when I created the bug report I couldn’t find the changelog for the snapshot, so I didn’t know about the feature. But in my oppinion F3 + N should be reverted to how it used to work, I often used the combination and it is easier to press F3 + N than F3 + F4.
Hello,
This is actually a new feature in 20w20a as stated on the snapshot blog post. You can also use F3 + F4 to cycle between all 4 game modes.
Thanks,
^Sharpy.
